Lush Cleansers – Angels on Bare Skin and Dark Angels

Me and Lush go way back, we are like that (crosses fingers). I have used so many products from this store over the years as I love the fact that all of their products are made with natural ingredients and are sourced and produced ethically. I was in there shopping for a friend’s birthday and the lady asked me if I wanted to try something for free. I thought I could get something extra for my good friend but then I thought nah, she’s got enough.

So, I asked for a cleanser sample of Angels on Bare Skin. This cleanser is made with Almonds, Lavender and Rosemary to remove grease, cleanse the face and moisturise. The product is not a cream or a gel, it is like putty and you break it off into pieces and the cleanser is activated with warm water, and then you wash your face as normal. I’m not too keen on the smell to be honest, but it product feels so good when you work it into your skin, making it feel cool and moisturised.

It didn’t dry out my skin, my skin felt soft and it felt like I had a good wash. Perfect for washing off the day’s make up. The beauty of this cleanser is that it can be used daily, it is not harsh on your face . There are bits of Rosemary in the product which makes for a good soft exfoliator.

The second little pot I was given was the Dark Angels cleanser. I was drawn to this one more simply due to the colour. I felt like a child thinking, that will be so fun to wash my face with. The reason for my madness is that the product is black. When you put this on your skin it looks as if you have rubbed coal on it, and that is quite a strange concept to get your head round thinking that this is going to cleanse you.

This product is best suited to someone with oily skin as it contains Rhassoul mud, charcoal and black sugar giving for an invigorating wash. This product is not recommended for daily use. I love the smell, which is sandalwood. After using this product, it felt like I had new skin, I felt like I was glowing. My face felt smooth and really clean.

I like both of these products, I prefer the Dark Angels cleanser but would use Angels on Bare Skin too. They retail in the UK for £6.35 for 100g. I do think the price is worth it simply because of the fantastic natural ingredients and you know exactly what you are putting on your skin, which I think is refreshing. There is a lush in most towns in the UK, but if you don’t have one near you, you can purchase them online for a small delivery charge.
